For 2023, the AWP will be supporting the installation of additional sediment mitigation to outlets of soil conservation structures or concentrated flows within 200 metres of a watercourse or wetland. Funding will be allocated on a priority basis and project proposals will be evaluated and prioritized by their potential to improve the local ecosystem in consultation with Soil & Water Specialists with the PEI Department of Agriculture and Land, the Department of Environment, Energy & Climate Action and local watershed groups. Funding available: Eligible costs on approved projects rebated at 100% to a maximum of $5000.00/project.
Applicants should seek the advice of a soil & water engineer or conservation specialist for the proper design and sizing of the mitigation. Applications will be received throughout 2023 or until all funds allocated to this program have been committed.
